Nurse Practitioner-Family Practice

**Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 am through 5:00 pm (lunch hour is provided). NO WEEKENDS (we all have a life outside the office) and NO CALL.** Seeking a permanent full-time or part-time candidate with experience in the Family Practice setting. We are a very established practice with two offices (DeSoto and Ovilla). The successful candidate will be able to work in an independent environment and needs to be confident enough to do so from day to day. Spanish speaking is plus but not required. We are looking for a Physician Assistant who is passionate about providing quality health care in a cutting edge, fast paced environment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing with 2-3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of primary care.
Master’s degree required with at least 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in occupational health, ambulatory or emergency department.
CPR certified

Responsibilities:
Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation, and health education.
Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Supervises and/or coordinates the activities of patient care and/or support staff.
Administers a specific health care activity, as appropriate.
May participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures.
Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
Maintains basic skills in performing and assessing phlebotomy, administering injectables and vaccines, and testing (EKGs, pulmonary function testing).
Other duties as assigned by the physician.
Assess, treat and triage; respond to emergencies; administer allergy shots; perform blood draws; medication & personal health consults; mental health counseling and referral. Diagnostic tests and interpretation, telephone consults with patients, correct documentation of medical records documentation and patient notification, Workers Comp: (Illness and Injury), communication and participation in staff meetings.
